Dear “Friends”

We would like to apply for some new rowing oars for our women’s team.

The rowing program is performing extremely well, and the students have been working hard to raise funds through the annual head of the river race.

Covid and recent wet winters has meant that we have suffered several years of lost fundraising opportunities, notably at the Head of the River. The current equipment doesn’t stop ageing, but we haven’t been able to keep up with renewal.

We would love to be able to give our women’s squad a new set of oars 8 oars. We’re asking for £2,000 from the Friends to go to the total cost of £2,800. The remaining £800 will come from the money raised from our Head of the River.

I have copied in the Laruen Maddison, the RUBC president, as she and the other women would greatly benefit from this opportunity.
