PRACTICE – Student studios in Oxford Rd Keep

Enable Reading art students to experience working in the community by having studios/exhibitions in the Oxford Rd Keep with local charity Open Hand Open Space.
Dear Annette
I hope you are well.
I am writing to put forward a proposal for a grant to develop and cement links between University of Reading School of Art with Open Hand Open Space and 571 Oxford Road Gallery. I not only work at the University, but also work with Open Hand Open Space and 571 Oxford Road Gallery as part of my freelance work.
The proposal ‘PRACTICE’ is attached, along with a budget, and a letter of support from the Head of Department at Reading School of Art, Dr Rachel Garfield.
The budget attached shows a breakdown of the whole project over three years.  The project is scalable, and so can be amended subject to grants awarded.  While we’d love to receive a full three years of funding for the project from The Friends of the University of Reading, we appreciate that this may not be possible. So, we’ve also included in the three-year budget, a breakdown budget for each of the three years individually. A grant for year one alone – of £2000 – would be greatly appreciated and would allow us to do some of the important groundwork to establish this proposal as a longer-term initiative.
I have developed this proposal with Adam Stead, a fellow staff member based in Reading School of Art. Adam, cc’d, is a trustee of RG Spaces and has put forward this project for funding from them also. Adam has said that all being well that we should have a decision from RG Spaces after the next Trustees meeting in June.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Best wishes
Stéphanie Mitchell
