Oxford Road Project – engaging New Generations

To Friends of the University,

We are very interested in applying for grant funding from the Friends of the University.

I would first like to introduce ourselves as researchers in the Human Geography department of the University of Reading. I am (Alice) finishing my PhD thesis corrections after the viva and now working on community research projects. Robyn, my colleague, is a part-time PhD student in Human Geography. We are both very much interested in research that focuses on community engagement and centring the voices of the people. We also collaborated with other organisations in our research, particularly the Oxford Road research, and we worked with Baker Street Production to produce this work. Oxford Road is a road in Reading which is very dynamic, cultural and historical.

I have attached the summary of the Oxford Road Project, of which we humbly request your funding to make this project’s resources reachable to others.

Thank you in anticipation of a favourable response.

Kind regards,

Alice
