Dear Friends of the University of Reading,
I am writing to see if our ancient art inspired mindfulness booklet could be supported with a grant from the Friends.
Brief:
The creation of a small (148 x 148 mm) mindfulness colouring-in booklet featuring designs based on and inspired by patterns and motifs found on items in the collection of the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology. The designs (eight in total) have been created (digitally drawn) by long-term volunteer Matthew Knight. The booklet would be free to take and would be made available both within the museum and at select points on the Whiteknights campus. The booklet will clearly feature material promoting both the museum and the Friends of the University of Reading and the Arts Committee. While the colouring-in designs are ready, creation of a print-ready final file would be produced by a student of the Department of Typography & Graphic Communication as a part of the Real Jobs Scheme.
The University is committed to the health and wellbeing of its staff and students and this booklet is designed to support the University in this aim by promoting a few minutes of calm for staff, students and visitors inspired by the art of the ancient world.
Cost:
£928.80- printing
£250- Real Jobs
The total cost £1,178.80
We are asking for £500 from the Friends and £678.80 from the University Art Committee
Best wishes,
Jayne
