An email about available funding to support and enhance University-community relations and/or help student/staff with extracurricular activities arrived in my inbox which got me excited about a project and I was wondering if it would be suitable
I have been working with Dr Lizzie Burns on several collaborative projects and think the idea to produce and showcase University of Reading research in an accessible manner to visitors and also to inspire staff and students within the University would fall under the remit of the funding scheme.
To this end we have come up with a proposal for some funds to support new artwork and the donation of pieces that reflect the wide portfolio of the biomedical research that goes on. We would envisage these being housed in the Hopkins Building where there is a critical mass of biomedical researchers but could look to host pieces at various strategic locations across the University’s Life Science buildings.
