Talk about One Hundred Years of Shopping in Reading, by Ann Smith, Secretary of the Berkshire Local History Society, on Wednesday 15 April 2026 at 4.00 pm in the Meadow Suite, Whiteknights

Ann’s talk will take us on a virtual walk round the town centre and look at shops from the 19th century to the present day, and how shopping has changed over the years. Some of these shops were unique to Reading, others house-hold names.

Tea/coffee with sandwiches and cakes will be available from 3.00 pm in the Meadow Suite, Park House, and will be followed by the talk at 4.00 pm.
