Coach trip to the Arcadian Thames with Martin Kaufman Saturday 29 March 2025
The first of two coach trips to Arcadian Thames in the southwest of London, the idyllic 17th and 18th century playground and retreat of kings and courtiers, poets, artists and the growing middle class, will take place on Saturday 29 March.
It will be led by Reading Fine Art alumnus Martin Kaufman, who this year completed his decade long journey through the London docks with The Friends. The two tours together will encompass country houses, parks and historic villages from Hampton to Chiswick on the north bank of the river, visiting as many as possible in the time available. Each tour will include a planned lunch in a suitably Arcadian hostelry.
Details will follow but, with a closing date for bookings of 27 February and places limited to 18 seats, do express an early interest to ensure inclusion in the March tour.
The estimated cost is £35, not including lunch or any entry charges.

The second tour – starting from where the first one finishes – is provisionally planned for Saturday 6 September this year, but advance reservation of a place is also recommended.
